Elixir tonics contain only the naturally occurring fruit sugars from the fruit as well as the herbs in the formula. Most beverages in the market, even the healthier functional beverages contain between 28 and 50 grams of added sugar, typically in the form of added sucrose, white sugar, fructose, or corn syrup. Simply mix 1 oz. of concentrate with 8 ounces of hot or cold water (carbonated or flat), stir and serve. Each pump on the pump top, dispenses 1/4 ounce of concentrate, so it's 4 pumps (1 oz.) per full size tonic. Do Elixir Tonics require refrigeration? No, because the concentrates contain very little water, well below the levels needed to support microbial activity. In concentrate form the pH is also acidic enough to further prevent any microbial growth. With the cap tightly sealed the concentrates can remain stable and fresh at room temperature for up to two years. Do Elixir Tonics have an expiration date? Each bottle is stamped with a batch number and a ‚“best if used by‚” date. The concentrates remain safe and stable long after the bottle is opened. Their stable formulation gives them a shelf-life of several years, comparable to most herbal supplements. Once the concentrates are mixed with hot or cold water as a finished drink they should be handled the same as any fresh juice. Therefore, mixing it with anything that can further relax or stimulate the body is not recommended. While alcohol might be depleting to the body, the tonic will still provide a nutrifying effect. However, that being said, tonics are a wonderful stand alone beverage and most people prefer to consume them in their natural non-alcoholic state. Can I mix different Tonics together? Different Elixir Tonics can be blended together, however since the energetics of each formula has been carefully conceived, we recommend that you stick with the beverages we've presented as is.
